The
"YO" Service
ALTERNATE WORSHIP: The "YO" Service
will be held each Sunday from 9:30 to
10:15 a.m. in the chapel in the parish building.
The service will follow the basic Lutheran pattern
of Word and Sacrament, but will make use of
alternate music–blues, gospel, jazz, rolling
contemporary, as well as some traditional music done
in a different style. This service is geared toward
youth or anyone who would appreciate an alternate
style of music and worship.

Want to be an
Acolyte? Traditionally in Lutheran congregations youth of
the congregation have served as acolytes and crucifers. The
acolytes light the altar candles, receive the offering plates
from the ushers, and perform certain other assisting tasks in
worship. The crucifer carries the processional cross and leads
in the choirs at the beginning of worship. Previously these were
duties only performed by confirmation students, but that is no
longer the case. Younger children and older youth can also serve
in this capacity. Anyone interested should speak to the pastor.
Confirmation Instruction available from 5 to 7 p.m. in
the parish building, with the pastor in charge. Confirmation is
usually seen as an experience for 8th Graders, but sometimes
other grades are accommodated. Speak to the pastor.
